Tour Overview

This tour is a perfect combination of coastal riding and visiting some of the most culturally rich monuments in India.

The 12-day tour is ideal for people who want to see the region from the eyes of a local. Jump on one of our motorbikes and experience south east India like never before!

The tour starts and ends in Goa, the hippie town famous for its long and beautiful beaches. We spend a total of five days riding along the coast and enjoying the fresh ocean air. We will find secret beaches, walk through busy flea markets, and admire the mix between Indian and Portuguese culture.

Sandwiched between coastal riding, we head inland through the Western Ghats and rich farmlands.

 The journey takes us to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Badami Caves and the Monuments of Hampi. Badami has cave temples carved out of stone overlooking the river. Hampi, once a bustling metropolis, will leave you breathless. It is one of the many wonders of the world full of ancient history, beautiful architecture, and sacred temples. Our tour doesn’t end there as we visit the Jog waterfalls nestled in the Western Ghats. After six days inland, we head back to the coast and wrap up our adventure riding alongside the Arabian sea.

GOAN MOTORCYCLE TOUR by BRM EXPEDITIONS

Where we ride

Upon arrival, you are greeted at the Goa Airport and transported to the remarkable Arambol Beach. The first day, we will go over the schedule of the tour. You will also have time to experience the beautiful sweet water lagoon in Arambol, relax on the beach, and explore the most unique flea market in Goa! Arambol, known as a traveller and hippie town, is an international hub for music, art, and jewellery. Discover some of the hidden gems of Arambol !

Distance : 

Day 2 is the first day on the bikes! We will do a short 80 km ride to explore Calangute Beach and Old Goa. Calgunate beach, just 20 km south of Arambol beach is the largest stretch of sandy beach in the whole region. After spending some time at the most famous beach in Goa, we head to Old Goa. We spend the rest of the day exploring all that this culturally rich town has to offer. The old town is uniquely blended with Portuguese and Indian culture. We visit many notable sites, such as the Se Cathedral,  For example, we visit the Se Cathedral, the Basilica of Bom Jesus, the Tomb of St. Francis Xavier, and the Archeological Museum. Even if you are not a history buff, you will be fascinated with the history of this town!

Time to pack our bags because Day 3 is officially the first day on the road! We leave the coast and head inland to Dandeli. Our ride to Dandeli offers us the first look at the stunning Western Ghats. With the coast in the rear-view, what lies ahead are high peaks, and dense forests. Dandeli is situated near the giant Supa Dam Reservoir.

After riding through the dense forest and winding roads of the Western Ghats, we head toward Badami. On this day we ride through the abundant farmlands of Karantaka. Experience the richness of life in the country as we wander through the narrow roads! At the end of our day, we reach the astonishing town of Badami. Badami is known for the incredible cave temples carved into the rock and Agastya Lake  . These rock temples are one of the highlights of our journey !

Badami is a must-visit destination for history and architecture enthusiasts, as well as those seeking scenic beauty and peaceful surroundings.

On Day 5 we change direction, and travel south 140 kms to Hampi. This day the destination is even better than the trip! We ride through the rocky landscape of east-central India and arrive at the monuments of Hampi. Hampi is a breath-taking UNESCO World Heritage Site settled in the heart of India. One day is not enough to discover all that Hampi has to offer, so Day 6 we have a full day to explore!

We wake up early to take in one of the most spiritual and magnificent sunrises over the monuments of Hampi. The rest of the day we explore the ancient city. Serving as an important pilgrimage city of Hindus, it is boasting with temples and monuments. In the 14th century, the over 1,600 monuments of Hampi were constructed, and most still stand today. Be prepared to be astonished by the vastness and richness of this UNESCO site! 

Hampi is a must-visit destination for history and cultural heritage enthusiasts, as well as those seeking scenic beauty and a unique travel experience.

POI : The Matanga Hill , Hampi Town , Hampi Bazaar

After a day off of the bikes, we hit the road again for our longest ride of the journey! With the sweet memory of Hampi in our minds, we leave the rugged and rocky landscape and head toward the lush forest once again. The road is easy and scenic as the landscape changes dramatically. We stop for the night near the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, home of the tiger, once again immersed in the Western Ghats!

Distance : 240 Kms

Today we visit Jog Falls on our way back to the coast. These waterfalls, nestled in the Western Ghats, are the second highest waterfalls in all of India! The waterfalls are stunning and one of the most remarkable pieces of nature we will see on our trip. The day doesn’t stop here, we continue west to the coastal town of Murudeshwar. This town is home to the second largest Lord Shiva statue in the world! The Shiva statue is perched perfectly on the cliff overlooking the Arabian sea.

Get ready for some fresh ocean air! On day 9 we ride north alongside the coast. We travel to the town of Gokarna, and spend another day admiring Lord Shiva. In Gokarna is a scared temple, Mahabaleshwar, which is dedicated to Shiva. Many pilgrims and tourists visit Gokarna for its important Hindu sites as well as its beautiful sandy beaches. We will spend the day relaxing on the beaches of Gokarna and exploring the sites.

Distance : 80 Kms

Our journey takes us further north alongside an amazing coastal road. With the vast sea to the left and the dense forest to our right, we will be busy taking in the stunning surroundings. This relaxing stretch of road takes us by many serene and secluded beaches. We will stop along the way at one of the most beautiful and secret beaches on the coast to soak up the sun and jump through the waves! It is a great way to spend our second to last day on the bikes.

Distance : 110 Kms

The last day, we towards the capital, Panjim. Panjim, the capital of Goa, is full of terraced hills, churches, and a remarkable riverside promenade. We return to Arambol for one more night before continuing on our adventure! A short ride of 70 km brings us back to our home base. Another day of relaxing driving through small towns close to the coast. In Panjim, we celebrate our journey over a delicious meal at one of our favourite local spots!

You should hold a valid motorcycle driving license. An international Driving License though not mandatory is better for you as it would ease any insurance claims that might arise.

 

You would need a valid passport good for at least 6 months after the last day of the tour you are participating in. You are also advised to carry medical insurance as well as travel insurance that sufficiently covers the bike, you and any third party damages/injuries.

 

In Event of Sickness or Injury, The BRM Expeditions Support team will try to get the participant to the nearest medical facility. Any Costs or expenditures incurred as a result are to be paid by the participant. Also, depending on the nature of Sickness/ injury and in consultation with the local medical examiner, the BRM Expedition staff reserves the right to cancel the participation of the affected individual. No refund shall be offered in such a case.

 

No. The tour prices do not cover any Airfare, Be it International or Domestic. The price quoted for a tour can be Inclusive of Taxes, and the confirmation for the same is shared on every tours Included Section.

 

Yes. The participants must get their riding gear consisting a Hemet, armored Jacket and trousers, Eye Protection Gear, Arm and Knee guards. You can write in to us to discuss the gear and if you want to purchase some in India. Though its better to bring your own gear, BRM Expeditions can offer some gear if one finds getting his gear along difficult.
